The LANOBA Story

In 2015, the idea of Lanoba was born when Lars immigrated to the US. With the idea that great Danish Mid-Century Design should be preserved and accessible to
the public, Lars began assembling a collection of classic pieces.

Sourcing all products from his homeland in Denmark, the entire collection is sourced directly from private homes rather than dealers. Lars travels back to Denmark 6-7 times area and crosses the entire county searching out teak and rosewood furniture with the pieces focused on the quality period of the 1950-1960's. No copies, no new productions, no replicas.

Each new collection is sent from our own warehouse in Denmark and brought to Brookyn where Lars refurbishes and supervises the entire process to bring these treasures back to life. Products are cleaned, repaired, sanded and finished.

About Lars
Growing up in Denmark, Lars began refurbishing at a young age learning from his father and brother. After school projects involved working on flea market finds the family gathered on weekends.

Moving to Copenhagen in 2000 Lars mixed his studies, working in sales and still collecting treasures in flea markets and homes. In 2015, Lars arrived in New York and found that high quality Danish Mid-Century Modern furniture that was well refurbished at accessible pricing was lacking in the market. Lars spent nearly a year cultivating products, finding warehousing and setting up shipping lines in order to bring Lanoba to life.

9 years since starting Lanoba, Lars has imported more than 17,000 pieces to the US with plans to expand with more shipments annually.

Lars resides in New York City and maintains dual US-Danish nationality.
