Bing & Grondahl, established in 1853 by Grondahl, who was a figurine maker for the Royal Danish Porcelain Factory, and the Bing brothers, who were art and book dealers.
Over the years B&G, as known by their stamp, was a competitior to Royal Copenhagen when it came to producing decorative plates and became the Danish leader in figurines. The collection became sought after depicting the varied life states and positions reflective of the society.
The original design was done by Ingeborg Plockroos-Irminger between 1897-1900 and produced in the early to mid 1950's.
