About the Design:
Kai Kristiansen has gained the reputation as a superstar designer from the mid-century age on onward. He followed a traditional path when we began as an apprentice in cabinetmaking before enrolling in the highly acclaimed Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen where he studied under one of the fathers of Danish design, Kaare Klint.
At the very young age of 26, Kristiansen broke out on his own and opened his studio and began to create furniture in what would soon become known as the Danish modern style. Kristiansen focused on well -joined teak and rosewood with elegant organic curves and shapes - applying his talent to chairs, desks, sideboards, and wall units.
These masterpieces were hand-crafted and with industrialization they were difficult to manufacture so many of Kristiansen’s designs eventually went out of production making these works of art a true collector item.
